Solids and Voids
Branding and Exhibition Design
An exhibition centered on pushing the boundaries of creative exploration.
Overview
Solids and Voids is an exhibition that took place at studio e in Seattle, Washington in the winter of 2019. The show was conceived by industrial designers Sallyann Corn and Joe Kent as a way of exploring ideas, fabrication methods, and materials not typically available to them through their commercial practice. Often constrained by the rational limitations of production, the collection of work featured in Solids and Voids answered the duo’s need for unabashed creative freedom. The pieces featured in the show were designed to engage the audience in a conversation between the familiar and unfamiliar. These tactile experiments were meant to give form to the unknown, expand design thinking, and celebrate the act of creating without boundaries.
