Gabriel Stromberg is a Seattle–based artist, designer, and educator.

In 2003 he co-founded the firm Civilization with Corey Gutch and Michael Ellsworth and worked as the firm’s creative director and lead designer until 2022. Under his direction, Civilization earned numerous awards and accolades including 2 How Design Awards, the Print Magazine Regional Design Award, a Webby, and, in 2018, the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Award for Communication Design.

He now works as an independent designer and has a client list that includes world renowned organizations such as the The Biennale of Sydney, the Museum of Art in Wood in Philadelphia, The Newark Museum of Art, and the Gates Foundation. His work is included in the collections of the SFMOMA and the Cooper Hewitt Museum.

He currently teaches design history at the Seattle Central Creative Academy and brand design at the University of Washington.
